This campaign, held from December 7th to 26th, 2024, was centered on our official X (formerly Twitter) page [@offokajafdn](https://twitter.com/offokajafdn).
Supporting the Less Privileged During the Yuletide Season
Our campaign was designed to support the less privileged during the yuletide season. We saw enthusiastic participation from various parts of Nigeria. Participants engaged with the campaign by making requests and, when prompted, providing additional proof for verification via Direct Messages.
We announced the cash transfers to beneficiaries in separate but related posts on our X handle, with redacted alert receipts displayed. It was heartwarming to see beneficiaries express immense joy at receiving much-needed financial assistance.
Making a Meaningful Impact
“Our goal in this season of the campaign was to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals who need urgent financial assistance during the Christmas period, from big cities to more rural areas,” said Prince Charles Offokaja, Director General of the Offokaja Foundation. “We are thrilled to have touched lives by providing timely cash transfers to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.”
Beneficiaries received amounts ranging from ₦2,000 to ₦50,000 based on a reasoned assessment of their needs and proofs. The cash transfers helped them cover essential expenses, finance professional certifications or educational degree aspirations, reduce SME running costs, defray urgent health expenses, save up on house rent, and more—just to mention a few benefits recorded.
Ongoing Commitment and Future Plans
“This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to promote the economic rights of individuals through humanitarian intervention. NGOs need to assist governments via humanitarian outreaches. And we invite donations to help us do even more,” added Prince Offokaja.
We extend heartfelt thanks to all participants and supporters who helped make this event a success. We remain dedicated to launching more online-driven cash transfer campaigns, as it increases our ability to help the needy irrespective of geographical distance. With cash transfer technology, we can render much-needed help to beneficiaries in every state in Nigeria and several African countries.
Addressing Crowd Safety Concerns
“We sympathize with victims over the recent stampede tragedies at offline humanitarian outreaches in Nigeria, and advise NGOs and philanthropists to consider online-driven cash transfers and verification technology and techniques as part of crowd-safety solutions going forward,” emphasized the foundation.
